Official 'Tron: Legacy' Poster.
Acting as a sequel to the 1982 sci-fi movie 'Tron', 'Tron: Legacy' is a visually mesmerizing sci-fi movie that made many fans and viewers enjoy the ride.
"Jeff Bridges".
"Garrett Hedlund".
In 1989, CEO of ENCOM International and software engineer 'Kevin Flynn'(Jeff Bridges) has disappeared, after proclaiming to bringing a 'miracle' that would redefine everything. 20 years later, his son 'Sam Flynn'(Garrett Hedlund) is now 27 years old and the primary shareholder of ENCOM, who take little interest in it and prefers to play pranks on the board of directors. One day, 'Alan Bradley'(Bruce Boxleitner), an executive consultant of ENCOM and friend of 'Kevin', informs 'Sam' of a strange message that originated from 'Flynn''s shuttered video arcade. Once there, he discovers a large computer in which it teleports him to 'the Grid'. 'The Grid' is a virtual reality created by his father, and once there is discovers that his father has been hiding from 'Clu', the program his father created to run the system and looks like his father when he was young. He soon discovers that the perfect world that his father created is far from perfect and that his arrival there wasn't a coincidence but part of a large conspiracy. Other major characters include 'Quorra'(Olivia Wilde) the apprentice and confidante of 'Kevin', 'Castro/Zuse'(Michael Sheen) an over-the-top program who runs 'End of Line Club', 'Jarvis'(James Frain) 'Clu''s right hand program and chief intelligence officer, 'Gem'(Beau Garrett) one of four programs knows as 'Sirens', and masked warrior 'Rinzler'(Anis Cheurfa).

and "Garett Hedlund".
When '1982' 'Tron' was released, it was a revolutionary film since it was one of the early films to be made where it included computer-animation in a feature film. At the time, the movie garnered great reviews mostly for the acting and the visual effects (which at the time were exceptional) but it was criticized for its story. The box office receipts at the time didn't justify the making of a sequel. But after years of video games based on the movie, talks and rumors started swirling from 1998 that a sequel was going to be made and that the stars of the movie and director "Steven Lisberger" would return to be linked in one way or another. 'Tron: Legacy' has been generating a lot of buzz for three years at 'Comic-Con', and upon its release people and audience were pleasantly enjoyed by the movie and the end result, but like its predecessor the movie lacked in the story department but excelled in the visual effects.

"Anis Cheurfa".
"Beau Garett".
This movie was the debut work of director "Joseph Kosinski", and to be honest he amazed many critics and fans for his ability. The real world scenes were shot in '2D', but once we are transported to 'the Grid', "Kosinski" excelled in what would become his specialty in the future: creating a magnificent world and making us believe in it (which would he later proves would be his forte in 'Oblivion'). The visual effects are most probably one of the best ever made and made the making of this virtual world look and feel even more real. "Edward Kitsis"(TV series 'Lost') and "Adam Horowitz"(TV series 'Once Upon a Time') were in charge of the screenplay. The story lacked the drive and the depth, while still tackling subjects and themes that weren't fully discovered or taken advantage of, such as the idea of a perfect world. The electronic duo "Daft Punk" composed a beautiful score that fitted well with the movie's theme and had a great cameo in the movie. The score was arranged and orchestrated by "Joseph Trapanese"(co-scored on 'Oblivion').
The first part of the movie includes most of the real world shots and sequences, that still had a similar yet more realistic feeling than that of 'the Grid'. It set very well what happened in the 1982 movie for those unfamiliar with it, and at the same time making the acquaintance of 'Sam Flynn' with the audience. The jumping off the building scene was the best of those real world scenes. However, the movie really shifts full gear when 'Sam' is transported to 'the Grid', which is what die-hard fans were waiting for. The whole the 'Games' action stunts and sequence were the highlight of the movie, where it really showed off the visuals of the movie and proved why this movie is an enjoyable one. After that the middle part of the movie slows down a bit to regain narrative focus, which to me affected the movie a bit. Still it allowed the movie to develop its director. The third half of the movie was enjoyable yet lacked the intensity that the first part had.
"Garett Hedlund" and "Olivia Wilde".
"Anis Cheurfa", "James Fran", "Jeff
Bridges", "Michael Sheen" and
"Beau Garrett".
The movie included a very talented cast, where some were successfully used whilst other weren't capitalized on. "Jeff Bridges" performed well as a more mature and older 'Kevin Flynn', but what no doubt made his character even more interesting was the CGI recreation of a young "Jeff", which for the most part was done right and people believed it. "Garret Hedlund" is one of my favorite actors and seeing him basically headlining what could possibly be a new franchise was nice, still there were times where he over did it. "Olivia Wilde" is another of my favorite actress, who suited the character very well and did a great job in terms of the physicality but the character was unfortunately under-developed, which explains why many felt distant from her character. "Bruce Boxleitner" was the main nostalgic link with 'Tron' and his young character appearance was a good one, "Michael Sheen"'s character felt a bit excessive for him to be a program, "James Fran" and "Beau Garrett" were not used properly, while "Anis Cheurfa"'s martial arts and fighting skills were excellently used in the combat sequences.

"Tron: Legacy" is a movie with its flaws; nevertheless, it is an enjoyable movie by all means. Still it’s a shock to me while a sequel hasn't yet been made, hopefully soon one will be done.
