Do NOT forget to rate this post when you finish.

Official 'Captain America: The First Avenger' Poster.
One of Marvel's Phase One Movies, 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' is one of the interesting movies which brought something new to the table when it comes to Marvel movies.
"Chris Evans" and "Sebastian Stan".
"Hayley Atwell".
'Steve Rogers'(Chris Evans) is a skinny asthmatic man, who has been rejected from World War II military recruitment due to his physical disabilities and health problems. While in a an exhibition for future technologies, Dr. 'Abraham Erskine'(Stanley Tucci) enlists 'Rogers' to the Scientific Strategic Reserve as a part of an experiment to create a new breed of 'super-soldiers'. Along with his collaborator 'Howard Stark'(Dominic Cooper), 'Erskine' successfully transforms 'Rogers' into a specimen of human perfection, which at first is only used as a symbol, but fighting to prove his capabilities and his strength to fight and conquer the evil 'Johann Schmidt'(Hugo Weaving) also known as 'Red Skull', commander of the terrorist organization 'Hydra'. Other major characters include 'Colonel Chester Phillips'(Tommy Lee Jones), officer of the Scientific Strategic Reserve and 'Rogers''s love interest 'Peggy Carter'(Hayley Atwell), 'Rogers''s best friend Sergeant 'James 'Bucky' Barnes'(Sebastian Stan), biochemist of 'Hydra' 'Arnim Zola'(Toby Jones), 'Red Skull''s top assassin 'Heinz Kryger'(Richard Armitage), Private 'Lorraine'(Natalie Dormer) and the members of 'Roger''s squad of commandos 'Timothy Dugan'(Neal McDonough), 'Gabe Jones'(Derek Luke), 'Jim Morita'(Kenneth Choi), 'Jacques Dernier'(Bruno Ricci), and 'James Montgomery Falsworth'(JJ Field). Also making cameo appearances are "Stan Lee" and "Samuel L. Jackson" as 'Nick Fury'.

"Tommy Lee Jones" and
"Natalie Dormer".
"Hugo Weaving".
'Captain America' was the last standalone movie of Marvel's Phase One before the release of what is known as the biggest blockbuster and superhero movie ever made. While it could have turned out to be a disappointment, it actually was a very good movie. What differentiated the movie from 'Iron Man', 'Iron Man 2' and 'Thor' was that it was a period movie set during the events of the Second World War. And that is what actually made it a very interesting movie that many audiences wanted to watch it. The decision to discover the roots and beginnings of 'Steve Rogers' and how he came to become the infamous 'Captain America' was successfully done allowing the movie to stand on its own, while cleverly linking it to the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe. And that later on became Marvel's ability to successfully link the entirety of its movies to fit within its larger universe that it created to itself. The movie actually does nail many elements that make a movie successful; still the movie lacked a certain flair that allowed the movie to become an epic superhero movie.

"Stanley Tucci".
"Dominic Cooper"
and "Chris Evans".
Director "Joe Johnston" was primarily selected to helm the movie due to his experience with superhero movie in the 'Rocketeer' back in 1991. In the end, "Johnston" actually creates a very solid period superhero movie maintaining the authenticity of the really world, whilst including those superhero references. His directing style actually allowed people to enjoy the action sequences where he indeed allowed audiences to actually see the fighting scenes clearly. "Christopher Markus" and "Stephen McFeely"('The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch andthe Wardrobe' and 'Thor: The Dark World') performs a great job developing 'Steve Rogers' and creating a solid story, which actually including many touching and emotional moments. Another positive were their ability to bring many strings from the Marvel Universe and swiftly including them in the movie. Composer "Alan Silvestri"('Marvel's The Avengers' and 'TheCroods') composes a compatible score, yet fails to bring the magic that music can bring to a superhero movie to define it.

"Hugo Weaving" and "Toby Jones".
"Chris Evans".
Over years and decades, the superhero 'Captain America' was known due to what he represented rather than his story and accomplishments. And this movie successfully shows why 'Steve' became this superhero and his true identity; a person who is always trying to show his dedication and high value personality to leave his mark in this world and make a difference. The highlight moments of the movie comes in the first half before 'Steve' was injected with the serum and became the hero we now know. Like I mentioned before, the high points of the story comes with the swift development of 'Rogers', as well as most of the supporting characters, who weren't reduced to one dimensional characters. The action sequences may not be as grand as the previous movies or similar ones, yet they are still enjoyable and well directed. The best scenes of the movie were the training sequences at the Scientific Strategic Reserve, 'Steve''s first time using his new abilities to fight, the final confrontation and battle between 'Red Skull' and 'Steve' and the post-credit scene. The ending was one of the touching moments of the movie that really showed emotions and the acting skills of the lead actors.

"Chris Evans" and "Hayley Atwell".
"Bruno Ricci", "Kenneth Choi",
"Chris Evans", "Neal McDonough"
and "Sebastian Stan"
Like all Marvel movies, 'Captain America: The First Avenger' includes a vast array of talented actors, whom each brings something to the table. "Chris Evans" basically had his second chance at a superhero franchise after his failed attempt with the 'Fantastic Four' franchise. And for sure this role will be his career defining role that people will remember him for in the future. His skills are shown with his ability to show the character development of the character and the change he went through, especially in the first half of the movie. "Hayley Atwell" performs well as the love interest and is able to give the female character its own stamp amongst the male cast surrounding her. "Chris" and "Hayley"'s onscreen romantic chemistry and interactions were one of the highlight of the movie. "Hugo Weaving" adds another excellent villainous performance to his resume, "Tommy Lee Jones" and "Stanley Tucci" succeeds in bringing weight and authority to their characters, and "Sebastian Stan" develops 'Bucky' well to generate interest in his character, when he reprises his role in future films. "Dominic Cooper" was able to bring the 'Stark'-swagger and expand on what we saw in the 'Iron Man' movies.

The lack of spectacular blockbuster action moments may be the reason why this movie isn't one of the greatest superhero movies, yet I am sure that 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' in 2014 will fix that point.
