When she was little, 'Gothel'(Donna Murphy) kidnapped her from her royal family in order to take full use of her powers to constantly conserve her youthful look and raised her as her own daughter. On her 18th birthday, after her alleged mother refuses to grant 'Rapunzel' her wish to go and see the lanterns, she accidentally meets 'Flynn Rider'(Zachary Levi) a thief who is trying to take refuge from the royal palace guards. When their lives crosses paths an adventure of righting wrongs and finding one's self and love takes place. Both of them will be accompanied by 'Rapunzel''s chameleon 'Pascal' and the horse of the head of the palace guard 'Maximus'. Other characters include the Hook-Hand thug (Brad Garrett), the Stabbington Brothers (Ron Perlman), Captain of the Guard (M. C. Gainey), 'Vladimir'(Richard Kiel) and young 'Rapunzel'(Delaney Rose Stein).

Disney Animation over the years has brought us 49 different animated Classic movies. Some that have been hugely successful such as 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Lion King' and 'Sleeping Beauty', and some that may not have been that popular but left their mark such as 'Anastasia' and 'Pocahontas'. What made these classic Disney animated movies so much popular ever since the release of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' in 1937 was the tackling of various different topics in very conclusive and innovative way with respect to the decade that they have been released in. 'Tangled' in many ways was the perfect 50th animated Disney classic due to what it merges between what is old school with the new technology that is available, as well as the new ideologies that have developed.

"Bryon Howard"('Mulan') and "Nathan Greno"('Bolt') did a fantastic job bringing this classic Grimm story into life and incorporating new stuff in it. The scale of the movie is huge but the simplicity and beauty of the shots and the world they created is a blast to gaze at throughout the entirety of the movie. "Dan Fogelman", who previously written for 'Bolt' and 'Cars', also gave a very harmonious story rich with live characters that you actually care to see and wait what will happen to them. The removal of the typical damsel in distress story was a very clever movie. The animation of the movie was magnificent, from the environment and world created to the character design. Eight time Oscar winner composer "Alan Menken"('Aladdin' and 'Beauty and the Beast') did strong score, with very exquisite songs (especially 'I See the Light') yet not as astonishing as his previous work.

The time frame was perfect that allowed for all ideas and story lines to develop with ease and at a very convenient pace. Although the movie as a whole was entertaining, there were two scenes that stood out among others. The first scene was that of 'Rapunzel' and 'Flynn' being chased by the royal palace guard and the Stabbington Brothers to the damn. The sequence was amusing to say the least and very well planned and directed. The other breath taking sequence was the lantern sequence. The animators made a very elegant scene and combine it with the beautiful song 'I See the Light’; you'll just enjoy and get into the moment.

The voice of "Mandy Moore" more than complimented 'Rapunzel', a character that still embodied the classic Disney Princess but had wit, charm and intelligence to take care of herself. Plus "Mandy Moore" vocally killed (positively) the songs. "Zachary Levi" used his comedic ability to bring the humor and at the same time the human side of the character. The voices of "Moore" and "Levi" complement each other in a very graceful way, to bring the chemistry their characters enjoy to life. "Donna Murphy" voiced a cunning villainess, who may not have the power of previous Disney villains such as 'Maleficent', but uses her emotional ability to trick others in a new manner. The other voicing characters provide a good support to the main characters. We mustn’t forget that 'Tangled' provide us with non-voiced characters 'Maximus' and 'Pascal', which both are very influential and pivotal for the success and enjoyment of the movie.
'Tangled' may not be the most classic Disney Animated movie of all time, but it sure is one of the best animated movies Disney has brought to us in the last couple of years.
