Review: He's Just Not That Into You

Review: He's Just Not That Into You
*Spoilers Alert

Official "He's Just Not That Into You" Poster.
A romantic comedy film, which has a 'not so bad' plot, that includes very talented stars. However, that does not hide it's obvious flaws.

It is based on the same name book, which its idea came from a line in the famous TV series "Sex and The City".
The film plot shows different people each dealing with their own romantic problems. First we have 'Gigi'(Jennifer Goodwin), who can simply be described best as a "desperate" person seeking love ,whose desperate pursuit of men got her to meet 'Alex'(Justin Long). Second, we have 'Jane'(Jennifer Connely) and 'Ben'(Bradley Cooper), the married couple. They have been together since college and their relationship gets tough after 'Ben''s encounter with 'Anna'(Scarlett Johanson). 'Anna' is in a relationship with 'Conor'(Kevin Conolly) and friends with 'Mary'(Drew Barrymore). And finally, we have 'Neil'(Ben Affleck), who has been with 'Beth'(Jennifer Aniston) for 7 years ,but is totally against the idea of marriage.
First, the talk is going to be focused on the movie's positive points. The movie is actually solid and better than expected, but still with all the talented cast it manages to disappoint you in a couple of places. Talking about the positives, the story has actually good and unexpected events, but somehow these events and their outcomes are predictable. I liked "Jennifer Goodwin"'s character; furthermore, she really knows how to do a voice over. I think she did a very good job and her chemistry with "Justin Long" was really good, surprisingly. Other actors that I liked were "Jennifer Aniston" and "Ben Affleck" , who for me formed a great couple. I liked the ending. I thought it was nicely done, and I liked what happened to each of the characters at the end.
Now let's get into the not-so good points of this movie. First of all , the opening scene for me was useless, it didn't add anything to the movie and could have been done so much better, or changed it totally. Second, the transitioning between one scene and another and from one story to another should have been executed in a much better way. Moreover, I think "Drew Barrymore"'s character was badly used. She should have been given more screen time. Finally, the whole love triangle between "Jennifer Connely", "Bradley Cooper" and "Scarlett Johanson" was done in the wrong way. At some stage, it became unbelievable. Though to be honest, the chemistry between "Johanson" and "Cooper" was smoking hot.
Overall , I didn't regret watching the movie but didn't either get fascinated by watching it. It was a good movie who got some things right, and could have done other things in a better way.
