Official 'The Dark Knight Rises' Poster.
The last movie of the Nolan's 'Batman' trilogy, and what a way to end this trilogy. 'The Dark Knight Rises' may not be as memorable as its predecessor but it sure isn't a disappointment.
"Christian Bale".
"Tom Hardy".
Eight years since the events of 'The Dark Knight' occurred, 'BruceWayne'Christian Bale) aka "Batman" has not been seen out in public after sustaining injuries that made him a "cripple”. But after'Bane'(Tom Hardy) threatens the destruction of his city and destroys him physically and mentally, 'Bruce' must return stronger to fight his last battle to save the city. And during his quest he encounters a new jewel thief called 'Selina Kyle' aka 'Catwoman'(Anne Hathaway). He is helped as usual by his butler and confidant 'Alfred'(Michael Caine), Commissioner'James Gordon'(Gary Oldman), police office 'John Robin Blake'(Joseph Gordon-Levitt), 'Lucious Fox'(Morgan Freeman). And we must not forget the surprise character twist 'Miranda Tate/Talia Al Ghul'(Marion Cotillard).
"Anne Hathaway".
"Morgan Freeman" and
"Marion Cotillard".
This movie is another masterpiece by Christopher Nolan, and it's a real shame that it’s the last "Batman" movie he will ever be involved in. As its predecessor the movie is really exciting. And in my opinion no scene is unnecessary or should have been removed. The opening scene was really a very clever idea as well as a very exciting scene. Since it set the tone and expectations of how the action scenes were in this movie: creative and pleasurable. Loved that "Nolan" chosed not to use the '3-D' format, since in his opinion it would have distracted the audience from the film and story, an idea which I agreed with. The explosion of 'Gotham' and its isolation from the world was one of my favorite scenes. Same thing goes the penultimate chase, which with the way it was shot and incorporation of the great "Hans Zimmer" soundtrack, made it one of the best chasing scenes I have ever witnessed. Many got very excited to witness the return of "Liam Neeson" and "Cilian Murphy" as 'Ra's Al Ghul' and Dr. 'Jonathan Crane' respectively. And the ending was truly a moment that many kept on debating about after the movie finished.
"Joseph Gordon-Levitt".
"Christian Bale" and "Michael Caine".
"Christian Bale" is the best actor I have ever seen playing 'Bruce Wayne/Batman' so far. As for "Tom Hardy", many criticized 'Bane' as not being challenging enough as 'The Joker', portrayed by the late "Heath Ledger", but for me he was truly a great ‘evil’ for this final chapter. His strength and ability to challenge "Batman" both physically and mentally was really good, and he was able to follow with the unattainable performance of "Ledger". "Anne Hathaway", for me, was the star of the movie. Her role, ‘Selina Kyle', was done and portrayed very intelligently. The way they were able to bring her bad and good side, at the same time keeping the essence of 'Catwoman' without being silly (not mentioning "Catwoman", and the cat ears being her goggles), and pleasing the 'DC Comics' fans was smartly done. Not to mention that the chemistry between "Bale" and "Hathaway" was really good. The way they incorporated "Joseph Gordon-Levitt"'s character 'John Blake' , was really smart in the end."Marion Cotillard" is a phenomenal actress and she really added so much to her character’s twist at the end. "Morgan Freeman", "Michael Caine" and "Gary Oldman" played their characters perfectly and were indispensable to the plot.
"Christian Bale" and
"Anne Hathaway".
"Tom Hardy" and "Christian Bale".
The evolution of themes , from ‘facing fear’ in 'Batman Begins', to ‘chaos’ in 'TheDark Knight', to ‘rising above all odds’ in 'The Dark Knight Rises', was truly amazing and was achieved thanks to "Nolan"'s creativity and ability to see what is beyond and create a world that the audience can engage to and believe in. His ability to direct and incorporate real-life ideas and morals is really astonishing. Moreover, a shout to to the magnificent "Hans Zimmer" should be given, because thanks to his out of this world score he was able to make the experience of watching the 'Dark Knight' trilogy a true cinematic experience. for every single person who ever watched these movies.
In the end, "Christopher Nolan" and the 'Dark Knight' trilogy cast brought the 'Batman movies' to life and gave us this new interpretation that not many expected to be that successful. And in the future, 'Warner Bros.' and 'DC Comics' will face difficulty replicating such success.
