'The Lucky One' is another movie,
based on the same name book, that surprised me. I didn't expected it to be a good
movie.
"Zac Efron".
"Taylor Schilling".
This movie talks about 'Logan Thibault'(Zac Efron), who
is serving his third tour in Iraq as a U.S Marin. After surviving a raid, he
finds on the ground a picture of a woman, which saved him from a bomb that was
located where he was standing. After finishing his service, he declares that
the woman on the picture is his guardian angel and decides to
search for her. Deciding he has no place to live with his sister, he takes 'Zeus', his dog, and heads to Louisiana, after he locates the landmark in
the picture. There he will meet 'Beth Clayton'(Taylor Schilling), the
woman in the picture, 'Ellie'(Blythe Danner), her grandmother, her son 'Ben'(Riley
Thomas Stewart), and her ex Sheriff Deputy 'Keith Clayton'(Jay R.
Ferguson). And he will go into an adventure, where love, happiness,
disappointment and death lies.

"Blythe Danner".
This film is a very good movie, well compared to
other movies within its genre. If we compare this movie to movies that were
adapted from books written by Nicholas Sparks, it was one of the good movies
that were adapted. Better than 'The Last Song' and 'A Walk
to Remember' , but still not as good as 'The
Notebook'. I liked that the movie overall was cohesive and that there
were no major holes in the plot. The story does get clearer and clearer as we
come closer to the end of the movie. I think that the director and producers
did a very good job. The scenery was spectacular to watch and the director made an efficient use of the amazing scene he got. The time frame of the movie was acceptable although it could have been trimmed.

The 'Iraq' scenes were for me fairly good, though not utterly
convincing. I would have liked to see a scene or two where "Zac
Efron"'s character and 'Drake', 'Beth''s brother, had
more contact and interaction. This would have made this movie for me more
connected and clearer, in my opinion. Loved the views and scenery that were
shown when "Zac"'s character and his dog walks to Louisiana. I was
hoping to see 'Logan''s sister reappear later in the movie. Moreover,
thought that the comedic moments in the film were spot on and not clichés. And
the ending was somehow predictable but nonetheless good. I would like to add
the link of the beginning and ending shot of the boat in the lake was a good
attempt to link the movie but for me it was a miss and could have been done
better.

Moving on to the actors, we start with "Zac Efron". I
will admit, I am a fan of this actor. Each role he is taking, he is proving to
me that he is a good actor, who can play various roles. He was able to portray
this role in a very good way, though I was not convinced in the beginning when
he played a U.S. Marine. "Taylor Schilling" was beautiful and
amazing. I fell in love with her character and thought she did an amazing job.
No need to mention that the chemistry between "Zac" and
"Taylor" was superb and electrifying. And I sure many from both genders would have wanted to replace either "Taylor" or "Zac". "Jay R.
Ferguson" was good playing 'the villain' of the movie, and "Blythe
Danner" was the character that brought the comedy into this movie and I
really liked her. And finally we have "Riley Thomas Stewart", who
played 'Ben'. He was very convincing and had great chemistry with both
"Taylor" and "Zac".
To conclude, 'The Lucky One' is a good romantic movie.
Though it may not be a masterpiece, it is an intriguing and a good movie. And I
advice people, who like these kind of movies and other movie fans, to watch it. You won't regret it
at all.
