Another successful collaboration between
Marvel Studios and Walt Disney sprints forward yet again another exceptional
movie, this time a masterpiece animation one.

In the world of 'San Fransokyo', lives a 14
year old genius young boy 'Hiro Hamada'(Ryan Potter), with his big brother
'Tadashi Hamada'(Daniel Henney) and his Aunt 'Cass'(Maya Rudolph). While intelligent
protégée 'Hiro' spends his time entering the robot fighting circuit, 'Tadashi'
spends his time at his university trying to develop robotic technology under
the mentor-ship of his Professor 'Robert Callaghan'(James Cromwell) and his
friends 'Fred'(T.J. Miller), 'Gogo Tamago'(Jaime Chung), 'Wasabi'(Damon Wayans
Jr.), and 'Honey Lemon'(Genesis Rodriguez). One day 'Tadashi' manages to
inspire 'Hiro' into trying to do well and join him and his friends at the
university to try and put his exceptional set of skills to good use. But
'Hiro''s triumphant success suddenly turns to tragedy when the one person he
holds dear is gone. That is until he meets 'Tadashi''s latest invention
'Baymax'(Scott Adsit), an inflatable health care robot. With 'Hiro' attempting to
figure out what to do with 'Baymax', while also finding out that his invention
has been stolen by a mysterious man, 'Hiro' will have to figure out who he is,
trying to go to the path of justice and heroism, all while dealing with him
growing up and dealing with his personal problems. Other characters include
"Alan Tudyk"as tech guru 'Alistair Krei' and a cameo appearance by
"Stan Lee".

For all those who haven't been living under a
rock, Disney Studios is re-emerging as the biggest force between Hollywood
studios. Owning Marvel Studios and LucasFilm, Disney is now releasing one hit
blockbuster movie after another. And its Disney Animation Studio is doing an
exceptional job reinvigorating their movies, especially after their biggest
movie ever known as 'Frozen'. So when the decision was to take one of
the Marvel Studios properties to make an animation movie, that had no relation
with the Marvel Cinematic Universe being developed, many were excited for the
prospects. Any Marvel Studio film that is being made has been hitting the
jackpot. But at the same time, this being the first animated feature Marvel
movie ever to be released, many were cautious. What the movie totally succeeds
in, is going beyond the action (that is great by its own means). The story being
told, which was very culturally relevant, and the perfectly developed and
engaging characters is what gave 'Big Hero 6' the momentum, anticipation
and likelihood that it may be one of the best animated movie of 2014.

Directors "Don Hall" and
"Chris Williams" have had previous experiences in co-directing
animated movies like 'Winnie the Pooh(2011)' and 'Bolt'
respectively. But this movie has without a doubt become their best work so far.
Thanks to the amazing visual and special effects that simply propelled the
positive energy out of the movie, both "Don" and "Chris"
were able to sculpt a movie that was so entertaining and fun to watch. Their
attention to detail, flow of story and shooting angles showed that what they
envisioned for this movie was spectacular. Writers "Dan Gerson" and
"Robert L. Baird"('Monsters University') and "Jordan
Roberts"('March of the Penguins') penned a solid screenplay, which
main feature that just lit the movie up was their exquisite creation of
characters and the depth they chose to go to engage the audience, while also
minding the genre and position the movie is in when it comes to pop culture.
Composer "Henry Jackman"('Captain America: The Winter Soldier'
and 'Captain Phillips') created a beautiful score that blended well with
the themes that the movie tried to convey in a very successful manner.

Movies that are targeted to a wide
range of audiences rarely comes in such way that 'Big Hero 6' actually
came in. Whether you are a 12 year old boy or a 50 year old man/husband/father,
this movie has a little of everything for everyone. The creation of the culture
and San Fransokyo was a refreshing aspect of the entire movie, where the
creators actually had time to utilize what the property had and play with it to
come up with a fully realized movie. Themes of growing up, grief, loss,
companionship, comfort and friendship are the main theme that underlie the big
super-hero or coming of age plot. And these themes were further enhanced thanks
to the absolutely amazing characters, which were fully developed(each at the
limit he/she required) and create an engaging movie. But kudos to the special
effects team that brought one of the best visual effect since the likes of 'The
Incredibles' and 'How to Train Your Dragon', and one of the best 3D
experiences ever since 'Avatar'. From the action set-pieces, whether the
climax battler, training sequences or inside the teleportation device, to the
landscape scenes, the movie really was vibrant and full of colors, which makes
any audience wanting to immerse into the movie.

'Baymax'. |
With the characters being one of the best
aspects of the movie and before starting with the cast, we must acknowledge
that the star of the movie with no second thoughts is definitely 'Baymax',
which surely must be one of the best robot/sidekick characters ever to be
created. Voiced by the brilliant "Scott Adsit", one cannot watch this
character without experiencing every single emotion (each to a certain extent).
His presence just added volumes and from the instance he was introduced in the
promotional trailers and movie, all eyes were fixated on his upcoming move.
Newcomer "Ryan Potter" voiced 'Hiro Hamada', one of the most fully
realized characters. His voice fitted the description and what we come to
expect from the character. And the chemistry between 'Hiro' and 'Baymax' was
the other highlight of the entire story, which pretty much allowed the movie to
propel forward in an entertaining manner. "Daniel Henney", who voices
'Tadashi Hamada', was another positive aspect, giving us breakout character in
the movie. The remaining cast "T.J. Miller"(laid back comic book fan
'Fred'), "Jaime Chung"(tough 'Gogo Tamago), "Damon Wayans Jr.
(neat freak and smart 'Wasabi'), "Genesis Rodriguez"(quirky chemist
'Honey Lemon), "Maya Rudolph"(Aunt 'Cass'), "James
Cromwell"(Professor Robert Callaghan) and "Alan Tudyk"(tech guru
'Alistair Krei') voiced well their respective characters, each having their
moment to shine. And "Stan Lee"'s cameo was also an interesting one.
'Big Hero 6' has become the movie that
everyone in the family can sit and enjoy together. And as years passes by many
will realize its importance, relevance and success.
