'Nick Hendricks'(Jason Bateman), 'Dale
Arbus'(Charlie Day) and 'Kurt Buckman'(Jason Sudeikis) are three friends, who
despise their bosses. 'Nick' works at a financial firm, whose sadistic boss
'David Harken'(Kevin Spacey) is manipulating him into doing much that what is
required in order to allow him to be promoted. 'Dale''s job is a dental
assistant for Dr. 'Julia Harris'(Jennifer Aniston), who is sexually aggressive
and trying at all time to make him sleep with her. On the other hand, 'Kurt'
was happy with his boss until his unfortunate death that leads for his incompetent
and jerk son 'Bobby Pellit'(Colin Farrell). With his cocaine addiction, the
company is in jeopardy of going out of business. Seeing the problems that all
three are facing in their work, the three guys decide to master a plan in order
to get rid of their bosses once and for all. And in order to find the best plan
they decide to go to 'Dean Jones'(Jaime Foxx) a.k.a 'MotherFucker' to consult
for the best way to perform their mission. Other major characters include
'Kurt''s boss and 'Bobby''s father 'Jack Pellit'(Donald Sutherland), Officer
'Wilkens'(Isaiah Mustafa), 'Harken''s wife 'Rhonda'(Julie Bowen), and 'Dale''s fiancée
'Stacey'(Lindsay Sloane).

After the release of 'The Hangover',
Hollywood has been releasing a huge comedy movie after the other in order to
find the next big thing. When 'Horrible Bosses' was released back in
2011, the movie garnered appraisal and acceptance by both audiences and
critics. The movie wasn't the next big thing but it did click with the
audiences. Seeing the cast that was made up of many acclaimed comedy actors
alongside many already famous actors, the movie was sure to become a box office
hit and to garner the attention of many audiences. In general, the movie does
have a premise that is somehow interesting and engaging, especially since the
key demo audiences that were targeted could relate to it. However, the movie
lacks that element of originality that made movies such as 'Bridesmaids'
and 'The Hangover' such hits and enjoyable. That doesn’t diminish the
entertainment factor that the movie had for it. The story did take the usual
route that these genre movies usually take, but thanks the exceptional work
provided by the cast, many did actually made 'Horrible Bosses' one of
their best comedy movies of the last couple of years.

Director "Seth Gordon"('The King
of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters') did perform his best job to date. His
first studio debut movie 'Four Christmases' the previous year was so caught
up in the plot that he wasn't given any freedom. On this movie,
"Seth" was able to gather a group of talented cast and use the skills
in order to highlight the movie, which in my opinion was the best route he
could have chosen to improve the movie. The screenplay was penned by writers
"Michael Markowitz"(who also wrote the story), "John Francis
Daley"('View from the Top') and "Jonathan Goldstein"('The
Incredible Burt Wonderstone'). The story is very much straightforward with minimum
subplots and over-arching arcs. Creating a screenplay for the cast to shine and
show their characters was the direction that they took, mixed with funny
moments, nice surprises and funny dialogues. Composer "Christopher
Lennertz", known for his work on 'Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam' and 'Marmaduke',
did an adequate job to support the movie through the music.

As mentioned before the fun premise does lay
down the ground for where the story will be moving forward. The first part of
the movie laid the ground for the background and exposition of each character
and his boss, as well as their relationship with their bosses. This part was
very entertaining where the actors got the most time to really work and
allowing us to know their respective characters, what makes it fun and shine
amongst the others. After the introduction phase, cam the actual center of the
story which the movie is based upon. And from here on is where in my opinion
was the best part, seeing the three main characters in action working together
and being put in these awkward situations. And what was even more ludicrous,
and these ridiculous and embarrassed moments are what made the audiences
actually laugh and the reason they enjoyed 'Horrible Bosses'. The ending
was the routine path that these movies usually take. The most favorite scenes
of the movie were the interaction scenes with the entire cast, and especially
that between "Jennifer Aniston" and "Charlie Day".

The element that actually made the movie the
success it was thanks to the stellar performance and comedic timing.
"Charlie Day" gave the breakthrough performance of movie, and 'Horrible
Bosses' actually allowed him to shine and show his comedic talent to the
world. "Jason Bateman" and "Jason Sudeikis" both performed
really well and were given their moment to shine. The trio combined provided us
with one of the best comedic buddy chemistry that was ever depicted onscreen
due to their unimaginable cohesion and relaxing between them. "Jennifer
Aniston" was a surprise to many how her form came back and with that
contribute so much to the movie. Her scenes were captivating and her
performance made her without a doubt the star of the entire cast. "Kevin
Spacey" effortlessly portrayed in a comedic manner the complexity of the
character, making his scenes and his dialogue that much enjoyable to watch.
"Colin Farrell"'s physical transformation added to the pleasantness
of his character, though the outstanding job of the previous actors did relegated
him a bit. "Jaime Foxx" does shine in his limited scenes, while his
involvement could have been utilized in a much bigger manner seeing his always
funny reactions. Other actors like "Julie Bowen", "Donald
Sutherland" and "Isaiah Mustafa" gave satisfying and merry
performances seeing their limited roles.
'Horrible Bosses' may not be the most
out of this box comedy over the past year, but the fun premise and active
display of the actors made it one of the most entertaining comedy movies.
