Official 'Rush' Poster.
Based on one of the most iconic Formula 1 rivalries ever, comes one of the best Formula 1 and biopic adaptations Hollywood has ever seen.

"Chris Hemsworth".
"Daniel Brühl".
Based on a true story, the movie depicts the true life story of Formula 1 race drivers 'James Hunt'(Chris Hemsworth) and 'Niki Lauda'(Daniel Brühl) ,whose race competitions made their rivalries one of the most famous ones in the 1970s. Depicted between the years 1970 and 1976, 'Rush' shows us how two upcoming talented drivers rose up the ranks to find a coveted driving seat in Formula 1 and how their rivalry grew and affected each one's different personalities and racing career. It will show how two completely different drivers, an impulsive racer vs. a disciplined one, chose different ways to try and achieve their ultimate dreams of becoming a Formula 1 Driver Champion, while facing adversity and life threatening situations that followed such a sport. Other characters include 'Hunt''s ex-wife 'Suzy Miller'(Olivia Wilde), 'Niki''s wife 'Marlene'(Alexandra Maria Lara), 'Niki''s teammate 'Clay Regazzoni'(Pierfrancesco Favino), and Nurse 'Gemma'(Natalie Dormer).

When it was announced that Hollywood movie was going to be made depicting the true events of 'Hunt'-'Lauda' 1986 rivalry, many Formula 1 fans including me were excited. And I have to say, other than 'Senna'(2010), which in my opinion is one of the best documentaries I have ever watched, 'Rush' is not only the best Formula 1 movie ever but it is also one of the best biopic sports drama film ever made in my opinion. What makes 'Rush' a very enjoyable movie is the fact that the director as well as the producers commits themselves to what is between their hands. Showing the excitement, the beauty, as well as the danger of Formula 1, 'Rush' certainly stands out among similar movies. Die-Hard racing fans maybe disappointed to know that most of the movie real emotional punches take part off-the track, but that is not to say that we witness also many satisfying racing action that are beautifully choreographed.

Director "Ron Howard", known for his work on 'A Beautiful Mind', 'Apollo 13' and 'The Da Vinci Code', returns to the spotlight with this beautiful work. What is very commendable is that "Ron Howard" put everything he got into bringing an authentic yet exciting and enjoyable racing movie. The editing and choreography of the racing sequences were beautifully done and the effects were cleverly mixed with real life footage to preserve authenticity. Writer "Peter Morgan"('The Queen' and 'The Other Boleyn Girl'), who also acted as producer on this film, did a good job with the screenplay. His successful attempt to keep the emotional gravity throughout the whole movie was great. His development of the conflict, enemies on track and respect off-track was perfect, but there still a few moments where the literal attempt to showcase this conflict was a bit too much. "Hans Zimmer"('The Dark Knight' trilogy and 'Man of Steel') once again kills it with his magnificent score that was brilliantly merged within the movie and motor sound, which allowed to elevate the movie and make it that more enjoyable.

The time frame of the movie was spot on. The retrospective beginning was a very good way to start the movie to let die-hard fans and relative new audience know about the focal point of this whole story. Even though the time spent off track is more than on track, the balance done between the two was effective. The development of the two characters was done really well and maintained throughout the whole movie. The inclusion of very well choreographed and breathtaking racing moments was perfect, while still being different from one another. Those racing moments were the highlight of the movie. But 'Hunt'-'Lauda''s conversations were also one of the best scenes of this movie due to the great charisma of the two leading actors. The ending was a great eulogy to the late "James Hunt" and a great shout out to "Niki Lauda", two of the greats in Formula 1.

The leading men of this movie obviously killed it, while still having good supporting stars. "Chris Hemsworth", who will forever be known as the titular role in 'Thor' and 'Thor: The Dark World', did a very good job portraying the magnetic British driver. Though this role doesn’t differ much from 'Thor' in terms of characteristics, yet he successfully put his own yet different stamp on this playful character. The star of the movie was for me "Daniel Brühl", who brought everything to the table portraying "Niki Lauda". Many audiences will come to the movie seeing "Lauda" as the antagonist, yet "Daniel Brühl" successfully utilize the material given to depict the psychological development of the character and show the brilliance and humanity of "Lauda". The love-hate chemistry that was depicted by "Chris" and "Brühl"'s characters was a blast to watch. "Olivia Wilde"'s role as "Suzy Hunt" was very brief yet very believable, especially the chemistry between her and "Chris" which is undeniable. Same is said to "Alexandra Maria Lara", whose chemistry with "Daniel" is spot on, and she actually enable to give her character more depth. Other characters were reduced in purpose to just fill out real life people, but there were standouts such as "Pierfrancesco Favino" and "Natalie Dormer”.
'Rush' will certainly go on as one of the best racing biopic in film history. And seeing the approval of authenticity 'Rush' got from "Niki Lauda" and F1 legends and critical appraisal proves it.
