Going on the ride again with "Channing
Tatum" and "Jonah Hill" will prove to be funnier and more
entertaining than the first funny movie.

With their success in the '21 Jump Street'
program, 'Morton Schmidt'(Jonah Hill) and 'Greg Jenko'(Channing Tatum) are now
performing adult undercover jobs, which doesn’t always goes as they plan.
When Captain 'Dickson'(Ice Cube) decides to re-enter them into the 'Jump
Street' program, 'Schmidt' and 'Jenko' gets excited at the prospect of re-visiting
and performing their partnership and take it to the other level. This time
around, their assignment forces them to go undercover at a college and try to
locate the supplier of a recently booming drug. Soon 'Jenko' and 'Schmidt' will
realize that things don't ever happen twice and that the experiences their
living inside college and the investigation itself is drifting them apart,
which is seriously threatening their partnership and above all their
friendship. Will they be able to find a new mojo and try to end this
investigation while keeping their bromance intact? Other major characters
include leader of the drug dealers 'Ghost'(Peter Stormare), college student
'Maya Dickson'(Amber Stevens), 'Maya''s weird roommate 'Mercedes'(Jillian
Bell), college jocks 'Zook'(Wyatt Russell) and 'Rooster'(Jimmy Tatro), and
Deputy Chief 'Hardy'(Nick Offerman).

As most of you readers are aware, '21 JumpStreet' back in 2012 was one of the surprise hit comedy movies of that
year, and with the box office success that it received many knew that a sequel
was a matter of time. Yet one must know that comedy sequels over the years have
never been successful ones and recent examples misfires prove this (just look at 'Hangover
Part 2', 'Part 3', and 'Think Like a Man Too'). But with the
return of the entire team that made the first movie, many were optimistic of
the result, and they had the right to be. '22 Jump Street' was able to
up the ante and improve in many aspects and elements of what made the first
movie a success, rather than staying with what the first movie offered. What
many will enjoy about this sequel is that the stars, writers and directors are
aware of the position they were in (a comedy sequel with a bigger budget and
larger stake), and utilizing their position to provide comedic relief and make
the movie, which was one of the larger positives.

Directors of the first movie "Phil
Lord" and "Christopher Miller" have had succes since the
release of '21 Jump Street', with this year's hit 'The Lego Movie'.
With them aware of the position they were, the creative paths they took
provided the movie with a sense of consistency throughout the entirety of the
movie, managing the jokes as well as the relationship of the lead characters.
Their confidence in the script, thanks to screenwriters "Michael
Bacall"(21 Jump Street), "Oren Uzeil"(Mortal Kombat:
Rebirth) and "Rodney Rothman"(Grudge Match) provided a
solid screenplay, which allowed them to go that further step into bringing a movie
that was actually visually funny filled with exciting and memorable moments.
"Jonah Hill" played also a major part in forming the story of the
sequel. Composer "Mark Mothersbaugh"(Hotel Transylvania and 21 Jump Street) provided a
solid score, and the use of popular culture music within the movie made the
experience of the movie even more enjoyable.

The difference between this movie and the
previous installment is the embellishments that were made around the core of
the movie, a core that is pretty much the same as the first one and is that of
the relationship that 'Schmidt' and 'Jenko' have. Though the relationship did
not necessarily take the next step that the stars and producers were promising
the audiences. Also as mentioned the awareness of them making a bigger movie
made for some pretty hilarious jokes. And as many would have realized the movie
was filled with nods and winks. Whether it was about the movie actor's movie
choices, the working force of the movie, or references about pop culture events
or other movies, there was a vast amount of these nods to make the movie a rich
and funny one. From the beginning chase, to the conversations between 'Schmidt'
and 'Jenko' and even the climatic event, the movie in general was pretty even
in terms of sequences. And waiting till the end-credits is obligatory, where
audiences will witness a hilarious post-credit sequence filled with cameo
appearances.

"Channing Tatum" and "Jonah
Hill" proved again why the first ride was such a joy and why this one was
pretty much the same. Mixing the roles of their characters and giving them
something new to work with (to a certain extent) allowed the actors to flesh
out their abilities. "Hill" as usual is hilariously funny providing
many of the strongest jokes of the movie. "Tatum" this time around
had more experience in comedy, which eased his performance and facilitated
spreading his character and becoming a more equal performer to "Jonah Hill".
This time around "Ice Cube" is given much more to do than the first
time around, which he took full advantage of. "Amber Stevens" left a
strong impression especially when around "Hill"'s character.
"Peter Stormare" provided the typical bad guy of the movie, while
"Jillian Bell" provided the breakthrough performance of this movie.
"Wyatt Russell" succeeds as 'Jenko''s buddy, and cameo appearances by "Queen Latifa", "Rob Riggle" and "Dave Franco" provided hilarious scenes within the movie.
'22 Jump Street' is proof that comedy
sequels can be successful one and be better than their predecessor if the
movie's realization process and story is done, while being aware of themselves.
