      With 2013 over, a year that brought us many exceptional movies, as well as many disappointing movies, we look at the Most Anticipated Movies of 2014. Movie Freak 77 has decided to break down this list in two. The first list will feature the most anticipated movies of 2014 from January till June. And the second list, which features the most anticipated movies of 2014 from July till December will be released later this year. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

After being moved from its 2013 Christmas weekend release, many were worried that this movie might not be the next big franchise. But with the talented cast, director, and the hyp of “Tom Clancy”’s death in 2013, many are still hopeful that ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ will be a hit.

This comedy movie is one of the promising ones. It may not be a big budget movie, but so far so good. The premise looks promising, and the inclusion of three of the upcoming and talented young actors in recent year (Efron, Teller and Jordan) this might just be the comedy surprise of the year.

Robocop

A reboot of the 1987 film, this ‘Robocop’ movie is trying to differentiate itself and adapt this movie with the modern world. This movie could have the ability to launch a new franchise, but at the same time could be a huge disaster.

Coming of the success of ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise, the long running video game is finally coming to the big screen. With the cast upcoming talents such as ‘Breaking Bad’ star “Aaron Paul”, upcoming ’50 Shades of Grey’ Star “Dakota Johnson, ‘Need For Speed’ may be one of the big hits of 2014.

Divergent

Like every year, there is bound to be a movie that is aiming in being the new ‘Hunger Games’ and ‘Twilight’ franchise. But if you look closely at the potential the story, the diverse cast, and marketing acts, ‘Divergent’ may be the best shot since 2011 to have a new ‘IT’ franchise. Hopefully, with all the hype it is getting 'Divergent' will not disappoint.

So far the trailers haven’t really out the movie in motion and the audiences excited. But with word coming that the trailers are only showing the surface of what the movie really has, plus add an incredible cast(including Oscar Winners) and Academy Award Nominee “Darren Aronofsky” this might be an epic movie.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Being one the Phase 2 movies of Marvel Cinematic Universe and after the success of ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Thor: The Dark World’, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ is sure to capitalize from the success of ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ and can be described as a political action superhero movie.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

-Comment:
Coming from the successful reboot movie ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ in 2011, the stakes and hope for a better movie for the ‘Spider-Man’ are higher. Hopefully with the news coming of a larger ‘Spider-Man’ cinematic universe with the scheduling of ‘Venom’ and ‘Sinister Six’ movies and clues in the sequel will eventually lead to an improved sequel.

Godzilla

This film has been creating so much buzz since it was announced, so expectations are high. Especially after the many previous flops of recreating a ‘Godzilla’ movie. And seeing the cast and few story spoiler, this attempt may be a successful one.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

With basically all the X-Men characters returning and the return of X-Men cinematic universe ‘founder’, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is shaping up to be one of the best superhero movie of all-time. And the story it holds looks interesting. Let’s hope its execution is the same.

After the success of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’, comes Disney's latest fairy-tale adaptation with a twist. Other than “Angelina Jolie” playing the main role, the interesting thing about this movie is that the known ‘Sleeping Beauty’ story will be told from the perspective of the evil character.

Another “Tom Cruise” sci-fi movie, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ promises to be the best movie ‘Cruise’ has been part of in the couple of years that has past. With an intresting story that is sure to provide a lot of twists and surprises, as well as ‘Emily Blunt’ being part of it, many are hoping that “Tom Cruise” will have a new box office hit under his belt.

22 Jump Street

-Starring: Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ice Cube, Dave Franco and Robb Riggle.

-Comment:
With the success of ’21 Jump Street’, this sequel was bound to be made. Both “Channing Tatum” and “Jonah Hill” will return as their respective characters but in a new setting, college. Trailers and few minor spoilers promises that this sequel will be as much fun as the first.

How To Train Your Dragon 2

On the same day as the release of ’22 Jump Street’ (for now at least), this sequel to the hugely success movie ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ will be released. With the very good word mouth that the first one got, this film will surely be one of the huge hits of 2014.

Transformers: Age of Extinction

So much speculation went about the future of the ‘Transformers’ series. But with “Michael Bay” returning for his ‘final’ ‘Transformers’ film in order to launch it in a new direction with a new cast lead by “Mark Wahlberg” and newcomers “Nicola Peltz” and “Jack Reynor”, this fourth entry is promising to hopefully offer something new. Especially with fan favorite ‘DinoBots’ being included in the movie, fans should feel very optimistic.
