Official 'Gravity' Poster.
A huge technically dazzling movie, 'Gravity' is one of the best movies of recent time that allows every single audience to enjoy a great experience, that is relatively new to Hollywood.

"Sandra Bullock" and
"George Clooney".

Dr. 'Ryan Stone'(Sandra Bullock) is on her first space shuttle mission aboard the Space Shuttle Explorer. Accompanying her is veteran astronaut 'Matt Kowalski'(George Clooney), who wears a thruster pack and flies around the space shuttle testing its operation and is commanding his last and final expedition. During a normal but final spacewalk to service the Hubble Space Telescope, disaster occurs when the mission control warns the astronauts that debris from a Russian strike on a satellite was heading towards them. Here, Dr. 'Ryan Stone' and 'Matt Kowalski' will endure a very hard task of trying to survive and reach earth to save their lives.

From the time the movie started its production, the film was gathering a ton of buzz. And when the first trailer was released, many knew that this movie was not going to be our typical space movie. But I don't think that many expected for such an awesome result. Especially the universal acclaim from all critics and viewers guaranteed that 'Gravity' will be a huge critical and commercial success. What is without doubt the unique factor of this movie is the dazzling and out of this world effects that were used where you really believe from the beginning that this movie was filmed in space, such as the debris that hurtles towards you. These special effects showed the potential that movies can bring with the developing technology. It even showed that audiences are asking for movies that bring realism in their visual effects. Combine these staggering effects with a great performance by its leading stars and a solid script; you will get an epic experience.

"Alfonso Cuarón", known for directing 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' and 'Children of Men', was just the man to do this job. No one can argue that "Cuarón" did a great job directing the movie and brought new techniques that felt impossible. He is a truly visionary director that brought this great picture, which he did brilliantly and especially the transition of viewing it from different point of views. The script was written by "Cuarón" and his son "Jonás Cuarón". There was nothing that extraordinary with the script, but it wasn't bad to be able to downgrade the quality of the movie. Yet the psychological factor could have been included more. The music, which was composed by "Steven Price"('Nanny McPhee Returns' and 'The World's End'), was beautifully and cleverly incorporated, where it was critical that it was done in a good way to compensate the lack of 'noise' in outer space.

The first 15 minutes of the movie were one of the beautiful and breathtaking scenery that I have ever seen. The way "Cuarón" merged the various shots in such a smooth way was really spectacular. These transitions were really one of the highlights of the movie, since it allowed us to see various perspectives. But what is more surprising was that it felt natural and not once was I annoyed by these perspective shifts. The movie was thrilling and exhilarating, when it comes to the all the crash and 'action' sequences; however, not all the slower scenes, which allowed to take a little break, were awesome. Yet it was necessary to have these slow scenes to be able to compensate the constant thrilling scenes. One of my favorite scenes was that when 'Matt' appears to 'Ryan', which was one of the best scenes.

Though technically the cast was made of two actors, these two superstars were more than enough to carry the movie by themselves. Let's start with "Sandra Bullock", who is known for her Oscar winning role in 'The Blind Side'. She was a great fit to bring the emotions to this character and to be able to smoothly and convincingly develop the character. This role was surely one of her best work ever, and I have a feeling that she will be the number one contender to win the Academy Award for Best Actress. Playing in a supporting role, "George Clooney" did an amazing job in my opinion. His presence brought a great sense humor that allowed the audience to laugh from time to time. His portrayal of his character was done in a brilliant way and was able to bring depth to a character that played a supporting role. Together, the chemistry was really fun to watch and improved furthermore the already high quality of the movie.

'Gravity' may be the only way for people like us to feel how space feels like. I do encourage people to watch this movie and enjoy the amazing 3D experience, which incorporates one if not the best visual effects ever done, which will allow it to win an Academy Award for best Visual Effects.
