Review: Inception

Official "Inception" Poster.
A film that merges various genres, such as science fiction, heist film and film noir. And only "Christopher Nolan" was able to that in such a brilliant, magnificent, and beautiful way

"Marion Cotilliard"
and "Leonardo DiCarpio".
"Joseph Gordon-Levitt"
and "Leonardo DiCarpio".
'Dominic Cobb'(Leonardo DiCaprio), an extractor who is paid to enter the dreams of important people and steal secret ideas. But his plans are usually endangered or sabotaged by the haunting memory of his deceased wife 'Mal Cobb'(Marion Cotilliard). However, through fate, a wealthy Japanese business man 'Saito'(Ken Watanabe) gives him a responsibility to dissolve the empire of his business rival 'Robert Fischer Jr.'(Cillian Murphy), by planting an idea. In other words, he was performing 'Inception'. Other characters include 'Arthur'(Joseph Gordon-Levitt) 'Cobb''s partner, 'Ariadne'(Ellen Page) recruited architect, 'Eames'(Tom Hardy) 'Cobb''s associate, 'Yusuf'(Dileep Rao) a chemist, 'Peter Browning'(Tom Berenger) 'Robert Fischer''s uncle, and 'Prof. Stephen Miles'(Michael Caine) 'Cobb's mentor and father-in-law.
The story of 'Inception' has been worked on for 10 years by "Christopher Nolan", who always wanted this story to go to the big screen. And the wait was definitely worth it, since this movie is a genius masterpiece and work of art. Every time I watch this movie I get amazed. First, due to the way a very complicated idea was done to seem so easy to the audience. And second, the movie itself is such a joy to watch. I am sure.
"Leonardo DiCarpio" and
"Cillian Murphy".
"Ellen Page" and
"Joseph Gordon-Levitt".
"Nolan" re-wrote the story many times to allow the audience to grasp the idea. A movie, that contains a story which deals with dreams and subconscious, is usually not that easy. But I think 'Inception' was able to simplify as much as possible the story and the whole idea of manipulating dreams. Furthermore, "Nolan" was able to bring an emotional level to this movie, by creating 'emotional threads' unique to each character. The only negative in this film, that definitely you will NOT understand 100% the movie from just watching it 1 time. And even after watching it 2-3 times, you may still not fully understand it. However, this doesn’t remove the credit that must be given to "Nolan”, who created a wonderful story.
Being the director and the writer, I think this helped "Nolan" somehow along the way in making this movie. He was just amazing, and he is one of the greatest directors of our time. He baffles people with the way he allows the story to develop and at the same time preserving the character's individual story and the film overall picture quality. What I admired even more is that "Nolan" barely used digitized effects. Instead he uses practical sets to deliver the scenes authentically. One of the few digitized scenes were the city that 'Cobb' and 'Mal' build, as well as the scene where Paris folded. And these were amazing scenes. Moreover, the collaboration between "Nolan" and "Hans Zimmer”, in my opinion, is one of the best. And in this one, "Zimmer"'s music really enhances even more the movie. And one of the best tracks of this movie is definitely 'Time'.
"Tom Hardy".
"Ken Watanabe" and
"Marion Cotilliard".
You need to watch the whole movie, from start to finish, to truly understanding what is happening in the movie. The movie's pacing was good and the time frame was perfect. All the scenes overall were entertaining to watch. One of my favorite scenes were that of 'Ariadne' knowing the problem of 'Cobb' with 'Mal'. In addition to that, the scene from where 'Robert Ficher' finds what his father wanted from him and until the end was very pleasant to watch. The ending is for sure on my list of best movie endings. The way "Nolan" left it for the audience to decide if what happened was real or just a dream and the way he executed it was great. After watching it and till now, I always debate with myself about this ending.
Before this movie, people uses to refer to "Leonardo DiCaprio" as 'the guy from Titanic'. But after his performance in 'Inception', this reference will be used less. He did a really good job, and he was able to lead one of the most talented and exciting casts I have ever seen. The cast were really cohesive and had extremely great chemistry. The love chemistry between "Marion Cotillard" and "Leonardo DiCaprio" was very believable, and one of the best on-screen chemistries I have witnessed. I was happy to see "Leonardo DiCaprio" being good in this role, I thoroughly enjoyed his role. Glad to see "Marion Cotilliard" in a big budget movie. I think she brought something extra to the movie.
"Michael Caine"
and "Leonardo DiCarpio".
"Cillian Murphy"
and "Leonardo DiCarpio".
The 'team' were really great together. "Joseph Gordon-Levitt" proved too many that he can be an action star, "Tom Hardy" stardom grew thanks to his stellar performance in this movie, "Ellen Page" was a successful choice as 'Ariadne', and "Cillian Murphy" as always did a good job. The other veteran actors "Michael Caine", "Tom Berenger", and "Ken Watanabe" played their roles perfectly and added a great flair to this movie.
In the end, 'Inception' is one of the best movies of all time and one of my best movies of all time. Though I doubt that still people haven't watched it yet, I do encourage everyone to watch 'Inception' and to embark on the great adventure.
